All surfaces must be clean, dry, smooth, even, and free from all other foreign matter. Raised edges, buckles, and blisters should be cut and flattened. Check flashings, drains, edgings, vents, and valleys and repair as needed.

Apply to clean dry surface using stiff, bristle brush, roller or spray equipment. For best results, the weather should be at least 65°F, dry and clear, with no threat of rain for 48 hours. Do not thin. Roofing may be placed up to 1 hour after cement is applied, as #216 will remain tacky for
approximately one hour after application. Allow open time to permit some solvent evaporation. Sheets should be fully adhered in position before adhesive sets. Dryingtimefor between layer application is approximately 48hours in warm, dry weather

This adhesive is applied uniformly between layers of roofing at the rate of 1 to 1.5 gallons per 100 square feet depending on surface porosity. For spot application of the first layer to smooth,non-nailable surfaces, use 1-2 gallons per 100 square feet. Stir adhesive to uniform consistency before using. Avoid heavy mounds of mass accumulation.

Clean tools with mineral spirits or paint thinner.

DO NOT ALLOW TO FREEZE. DO NOT THIN. DO NOT HEAT CONTAINER or store at temperatures greater than 120° F. Be sure lid is tight and pail is secure when transporting this product. Do not allow pail to tumble as this may loosen the lid and allow leakage or spillage to occur.

Start by removing all loose gravel and debris by sweeping with a stiff broom, or use special vacuum equipment. All remaining gravel, sharp edges and lumps of old roofing material mustbescrapedawaytoprovidea smooth, even surface to receive the buffer layer without puncturing it. The buffer layer is 80 lb. mineral-surfaced cap sheet applied mineral face down with 2” side laps and 6” end laps. It replaces the first layer of base sheet.
