#711 COLD PROCESS LAP CEMENT

#711 COLD PROCESS LAP CEMENT

Product Description

#711 Cold Process Lap Cement is a high grade, fibered, asphalt solvent blend of medium brushing consistency. #711 AF provides a tough interply adhesive for built up roofs. It provides an even tighter, longer lasting bond than hot asphalt without the disagreeable odor or smoke. #711 requires less labor and equipment, provides a stronger, more reliable roof and eliminates the hazards of using hot asphalt. #711 minimizes the risk of wrinkles, blisters and other problems often associated with overheated or underheated asphalt. #711 is more flexible than hot asphalt in cold weather. Use #711 SPRAY GRADE adhesive for spray applications. #711 may be used as an extra-bodied roof coating to seal cracks or resaturate old roofing layers. In some instances it may be used to patch roofs because of the extreme bonding quality of the product. #711 is also used to adhere asphalt coated base sheets (25 lb. or heavier), cap sheets, suitable nonnailable roof surfaces, asphalt coated roof insulation between layers, and to polyester fabric. #711 is recommended as a reinforced maintenance coating in place of hot asphalt, for bonding gravel or granule surfacing, and for built-up roofing systems. Do not use #711 with 15 or 30 lb. saturated felt, APP modified systems or in any roof membrane with solvent sensitive roof insulation.

Application Methods

Application rate at a minimum of 1.5 to 2 gallons per 100 square feet, uniformly between layers of roofing or for spot application of the first layer to smooth, non-nailable surfaces, use 1 gallon per 100 square feet. Application rates will vary by surface, porosity, and job conditions. Please consult TRP for total dry film thickness requirements.
